Let us take you through a recent wedding we had the pleasure of catering in Dulwich, a beautiful celebration that brought together thoughtful styling, a relaxed yet refined setting and a menu designed to be enjoyed from beginning to end.
Creating unforgettable wedding dining experiences is at the heart of what we do at Indulgence Food Design. From the first canapé to the final late-night offering, every element of the menu is carefully considered to reflect the couple, the setting and the way the day is designed to unfold.
For this wedding, the menu was crafted to feel refined, generous and effortless, allowing guests to move seamlessly from one moment to the next.
Setting the Tone With Canapés
Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed with a selection of elegant canapés designed to be enjoyed while mingling.
The menu featured a balance of flavour, texture and presentation, including chardonnay poached chicken finger sandwiches, saffron risotto cakes with Huon smoked salmon, twice baked gorgonzola soufflé with caramelised pear, and blue swimmer crab arancini.
Canapés play an important role in wedding catering. They set the tone for the event, create movement and conversation, and offer guests an immediate sense of the style and quality to come.
A Thoughtful Entrée
As guests were seated, the dining experience continued with a carefully designed entrée.
A deconstructed Spencer prawn cocktail with avocado and tomato salsa, finished with crisp kale and charred lemon, offered a fresh and vibrant start. Light yet flavourful, it complemented the setting while preparing guests for the shared courses to follow.
At Indulgence Food Design, each course is considered not only on its own, but as part of the overall flow of the evening.
Shared Dining That Brings People Together
For the main course, dishes were served shared to the table, creating a relaxed and generous dining experience that encouraged connection and conversation.
Guests enjoyed pepper and herb crusted Coorong Black Angus eye fillet alongside Italian rubbed chicken, complemented by burrata with heritage tomatoes and basil and roasted new potatoes with burnt butter and sea salt.
Shared dining is a popular choice for weddings as it allows for a more interactive and considered experience, while still maintaining a sense of refinement.
Finishing on a High
As the evening progressed and the dance floor filled, the celebration continued with a late-night offering.
Beef cheeseburgers with tomato relish were served to guests, a fun and memorable way to close the night and ensure everyone was well looked after.
These final touches often become some of the most talked-about moments of a wedding, bringing a sense of ease and enjoyment as the evening winds down.
